| The Last Months In Vietnam (2.0) - File Description |
 |
Description:
Your a normal grunt that is transfered at the beginning of the campaign to aSpecial Forces base. Here you will spend your last few months in Vietnam doing Special Forces tasks. The mission types will range from your simple recon to blowing up stuff and search and rescue amongst other things. I havealso used music from the 60's and 70's along with some other sounds for the atmosphere. Halfway through the campaign you get a second transfer to the island of Mekong (Meekong Delta). Here the final time of your tour of duty and the heavier missions start. This is war, no time for green stuff. You fight or die big time. Charlie owns this country. The campaign is 22 missions big.

Main campaign idea:
Your a normal grunt that is transfered at the beginning of the campaign to a
Special Forces base. Here you will spend your last few months in Vietnam
doing Special Forces tasks. The mission types will range from your simple
recon to blowing up stuff and search and rescue amongst other things. I have
also used music from the 60's and 70's along with some other sounds for
the atmosphere. Halfway through the campaign you get a second transfer to
the island of Mekong (Meekong Delta). Here the final time of your tour of
duty and the heavier missions start. This is war, no time for green stuff.
You fight or die big time. Charlie owns this country.
The campaign is 22 missions big.

How to use the arty in mission 18:
Get into the radio menu of the player unit. (press 0-0) You will see the
option 'mark target' under 1. press 1 now. Now open up the map screen.
Click on the map where you want the target to be. Now get back into the
radio menu. You now have two options: 'target marked' or 'clear target'.
press 1 for confirmation of the target and press 2 to click again on the
map. The rest of the options are self explainatory. Just use the radio menu
back and forth to use the arty.
p.s. Other support that you can call upon in missions is also called by
using the radio commands.
****************************************************
Known bugs in the campaign:
- The bloody sebnam_wp.pbo error:
Anybody knows how to fix this damn bug, let me know please.
- The player gets chucked out of the chopper to early in mission 15:
Yeah well 90% of the time it goes well, the other 10 you need to
learn how to fly fast.
- Occasional mission 9 to mission 10 crash to main screen bug:
Ok this bug cost me some time to try to fix. It's the crossover between
Ilo Ilo and Meekong. I hope i fixed it by now. If it isn't fixed and you
crashed to main ofp screen, just get back in the campaign window and press
continue. It should load up now.
Any bugs still out there, tell me about it and i'll try to fix if they are
big bugs. look below on this file for the contact info.
****************************************************
Final words:
I cannot be held responsible for anything that might happen while you play
my campaign. When you play this campaign you do so at own risk and
knowledge of risks that could happen. The campaign and myself are in no way
related to BIS or Codemasters. So take your bloody whining somewhere else.
Ya know the drill by now!
****************************************************
Enjoy playing the campaign.

Atmospheric and involving, Warrior X [Zeus] demonstrates a great imagination with a solid range of original missions flawlessly tied together with some of the best cutscenes. Ever. The icing on the cake is the music included. It's like being in a Quentin Tarantino movie. A really well chosen selection of tunes dating from the appropriate period accompanies our hero "Rooster" (a nod to Alice in Chains perhaps?) around the indochinan jungles. A few complaints (minor) are poor spelling in the mission notes, "unusual" accents in the spoken parts of cutscenes, and the fact that the character begins as a sergeant yet the assigned rank in the missions themselves varies from day to day. Really nothing more than minor annoyances. Overall 9/10. |
